Soccer Camps during half terms are great way to keep your child busy – especially if they are football mad and need to get their football fix.
It’s important to choose the right soccer camp for your child and with many options available in Essex, it can be hard to know what to choose.
Here are some of the things you should look out for and consider when choosing your child’s soccer camp in Essex.
1- Coaching quality: Before signing up, have a look at which coaches will be on site during the camp and their experience/level. This can help you determine the quality level and the standard of camp. Keep an eye out for camps led by coaches who have respected football qualifications, for example UEFA/FA.
2- Location: Look for camps that are hosted at venues within safe and secure settings/communities. Schools, leisure centres and football clubs are a good benchmark as to whether the location has been well thought out and make for safe environment.
3- Age: We recommend choosing a camp that caters for multiple ages groups. The groups will tend to split up for activities to ensure it’s inclusive and age appropriate. But multiple age groups means your child can attend the same one year-on-year and play alongside their new friends each time.
4- Variety: A soccer camp is a fun experience for your child, so look for a camp that mixes practice and tournaments alongside fun games and activities. The variety of games will help keep them engaged but they’ll also learn new skills.
5- Ability level: Look out for camps that are designed for all abilities, i.e. beginners and advanced. This means your child will not feel pressured to ‘perform’, but they will be challenged while having fun.
6- Reviews: Before signing onto a camp, take a look at the reviews they’ve had from previous players. This is a good opportunity to gauge if they’re well respected in the area and the quality of coaching delivered.
